Leadership requires your voice
Public speaking does not happen only on a stage.
It happens when you lead a team meeting, deliver a briefing, explain a decision, speak with an employee, address a senior leader, or find yourself expected to speak without preparation.
These are public-speaking moments—and they are also leadership moments.
Freedom-Driven Leadership explores how fear interferes with your personality, power, and authority when it is time to speak.
It then applies practical speaking principles to the everyday situations leadership requires.
The framework
Fear Is a Freeloader
Fear can influence how you speak, how you see yourself, and what you do when leadership places you in front of other people. This introductory message provides the framework for the five-week course.
Who this is for
This course is designed for professionals who must lead with their voice.
- You are becoming a supervisor or have recently entered leadership.
- You already serve as a middle manager but sometimes lack confidence when speaking.
- You lead meetings, briefings, conversations, or workplace presentations.
- You sometimes second-guess yourself when speaking to employees or senior leaders.
- You want to communicate with greater clarity, composure, power, and authority.
- You want your speaking style to reflect your natural personality.
Military and civilian professionals are welcome.
Five-week progression
What we will explore
Fear Is a Freeloader
Establish the course framework by examining fear, public speaking, personality, power, authority, and the cost of allowing fear to remain unchallenged.
Free Your Personality
Explore preconceived ideas about how speakers and leaders are supposed to behave, recognize what fear says, and become more comfortable speaking as yourself.
Stand in Your Power and Authority
Examine power, authority, resistance, taking the floor, remaining composed through mistakes, subject-matter expertise, preparation, organization, and silence.
Give Your Leadership Message Structure
Learn how main points, subpoints, transitions, and a common thread can create clearer workplace messages, briefings, introductions, and impromptu remarks.
Build Audience Engagement and Credibility
Bring the principles together through relevance, preparation, clarity, natural conversation, dialogue, enthusiasm, and the personal habits that can interfere with audience connection.
