Goal #9 of 10 goals that lay the foundation for a successful speech.

Outside these 10 goals, everything else is optional and should be tailored to the specific time, location, topic, and audience to which you are presenting. 

9. Give a MPs overview  

• Include an overview so that your audience knows what to expect
  • This can be skipped in presentations that are for the purpose of telling a story as the audience will want to experience the story unfold without any spoilers
• In general, audiences don’t like surprises 
  • Keep your agenda clear and state it up front 
  • Follow the overview exactly
    • Don’t add to or take away from the stated overview
    • Again, no surprises
