Outside these 10 goals, everything else is optional and should be tailored to the specific time, location, topic, and audience to which you are presenting.
9. Give a MPs overview
- Include an overview so that your audience knows what to expect
- This can be skipped in presentations that are for the purpose of telling a story as the audience will want to experience the story unfold without any spoilers
- In general, audiences don’t like surprises
- Keep your agenda clear and state it up front
- Follow the overview exactly
- Don’t add to or take away from the stated overview
- Again, no surprises
