FDS Belt System

The FDS belt system enhances the curriculum marking the development level of the student.  The belt system and FDS training are based on MSgt Carter’s personal public speaking journey and brings students all the way to the final level of mastery as a Black belt. The Training consists of classroom curriculum, research, writing, audio, video assignments, presentation delivery of all types and performance evaluation. In the online FDS Dojo students will progress through ranks marked by belts of varying colors, Black Belt being the highest.

As students progress through the belts, they will begin to experience a freedom and release that can only be accomplished through this course. They will experience confidence and control in their personal lives. They will experience promotions on the job and enriched personal relationships. They will experience mastery of the world around them.

Novice Belts

Novice levels of training in FDS: Students move through ranks in order, Beginner (no belt), WhiteYellow and Greenbelts. Students at this level can expect to drill on basic techniques to defeat fear and then move into basic use of presentation techniques and equipment, speech preperation process, building an effective speech structure using basic keyword outlines and delivering an effective talk of varying lengths up to 3 to 7 minutes.

BeginnerWhite, and Yellow are all the most basic level of FDS development. Green belt is the introduction to slides and visual aids, as well as, growing by evaluating others. A student can expect to spend about 6 weeks moving through these ranks.

Intermediate Belts

Intermediate level training involves techniques demanding more complex use of space and emphasis on personality and enthusiasm (persuation) delivering talks ranging from 7 to 20 minutes. This level is made up of belts in order by Purple, Purple & BlackBlue, and Blue & Black belts.

It generally takes 6 months to progress through the intermediate levels of FDS training. Students will learn to master longer more invovled speeches, different types of speeches and forms of delivery including the use of slides and other visual aids.

Advanced Belts

BrownBrown & BlackRedRed & Black and Black belts indicate FDS training involving advanced presentations in all invironments. Training exercises introduce a higher level of challenge and FDS experience for students.

Black belt, the highest belt level, is often recognized as proper qualification required for teaching at FDS. Most students can earn their black belt after four to nine months of dedicated training. Black belt requirements include mastery of all forms of speech delivery up to 50 minutes and all techniques previously learned and the public impromptu, spotlight public addresses, spontaneous demonstration techniques, and demonstration of philosophical understanding of the FDS technique.
